Hi folks šŸ™‹šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø,

I’m taking a break this week due to the New Year, but I want to use this opportunity to share a different newsletter. 10-15% of you readers were subscribed to my old daily newsletter, so you might have already seen this.

If that’s the case, I’ll see you next Tuesday!

Doubling Down

I’ve missed writing daily emails to all of you. It gives me an excuse to keep up with the space for my job + there’s no quiet moment in crypto. All the craziness in the past few months. We’ve had quite the year. Cheers to a better 2023 šŸ¤ž

One thing that I learned, having been in the space for 6 years, is that you double down when things get hard.

My biggest regret in 2018-2019 was not ā€œbuilding in publicā€.

I was already working in crypto, and had thoughts about topics, but didn’t bother to spend the time to create content. I’m not repeating that mistake.

Crypto will be in a bear market for the next few years, so I’m doubling down.

So what am I doing?

I’m sending this email to announce my new newsletter: Chain Catalyst.

What is it: A 3 times a week free newsletter, geared for web3 founders and investors.

What is it for: Your ā€œgo-toā€ email to understand what matters in 5 minutes.

Why should I subscribe: You get the best of both worlds. The daily recap newsletter (quick information) as well as the insights important for founders and investors.

Schedule — Chain Catalyst publishes at least 3 issues per week.

  • Monday: One big news that matter, charts of the week, products of the week.

  • Wednesday: One big news that matter, crypto case study, new features highlight.

  • Friday: One big news that matter, deal flows highlight, investor-founder highlight.

Why am I doing this?

Once again, the bear market is the time to double down. But there are also 3 good reasons to embark on Chain Catalyst:

  • šŸ‘· It makes me a better employee. Crypto is moving faster than ever. They said that if you don’t write it, you don’t really understand it. I find that’s increasingly true with crypto. By writing an extra 1-2 hours every 2 days, I become much more in tune with the space.

  • šŸ¤ I found a great partner. A successful internet marketer that can actually get my writing in front of a larger audience. You can only write so much to a small audience šŸ˜” I need those dopamine hits.

  • šŸ“ˆ It creates a flywheel. A successful media presence is extremely powerful. Look at Meltem with CoinShares, Cathy Wood with ArkInvest, and many more. The power of creating content while working as a professional is enormous. In the future, it will be required to create content, but that’s a topic for another time.

Thank You
